The Midwestern Advantage
Midwestern University's investment in education, faculty, research, facilities, and clinical training translates into our students being "Day One Ready.”
The Master of Science in Nursing / Nurse Leadership (MSN-L) is a 15-month program spanning five quarters, with 45 quarter credits and 240 practicum hours. Online coursework and applied leadership experiences help students develop competencies aligned with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Essentials and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) Nurse Leader Core Competencies.
Graduates are prepared to pursue leadership opportunities across healthcare, academic, community, public health, and professional settings. The program also provides a foundation for doctoral education and continued professional advancement. Preparation supports pursuit of nurse leadership certifications; eligibility depends on each certifying organization’s education, professional experience, and continuing-education requirements.
According to the American Nursing Association, nurse leaders make a difference by driving positive changes in national and global legislation. MWU's Nurse Leadership program can help you accomplish this.
Nurse leader positions are expected to increase by 24% over the next ten years. They can earn between $100,520 - $136,130 per year (variance is based on region and/or experience), according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
At Midwestern University, we prioritize research to advance knowledge and offer students enhanced learning opportunities, fostering close collaboration with faculty and peers on innovative projects.
