Midwestern University clinical faculty will share their expertise on wellness and healthy aging with the Downers Grove community during a free lecture series.

Midwestern University is partnering with the Downers Grove Public Library to host a Community Health Lecture Series, offering free talks on healthy aging and wellness for seniors, caregivers, and community members. The series takes place on Wednesdays at noon, September 17 through October 8, covering topics including eye health, lifestyle medicine, oral health, and cognitive function. Attendance is free, and individuals may register on the events page of the Downers Grove Public Library for one or all of the sessions. 

Clinical faculty from Midwestern University’s Multispecialty Clinic will share their expertise in dental care, family medicine, optometry, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, participate in discussions, and learn more about preventive care, early intervention, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

September 24:

Lifestyle Medicine: A Holistic Approach to Aging Well – presented by Dr. Kimberly McKinnon, Family Medicine Clinic

October 1:

Oral Health and Whole-Body Wellness – presented by Dr. Larry Williams, Dental Institute

October 8:

Cognitive & Functional Health: Keeping the Brain & Body Working at Its Best – presented by Dr. Teri Elliott-Burke, Physical Therapy Institute, and Judy Ball, M.S., Speech Language-Pathology Institute

The Midwestern University Multispecialty Clinic, located at 3450 Lacey Road in Downers Grove, provides high-quality, patient-centered care for the whole family while serving as a hands-on teaching environment for Midwestern University’s graduate health science students.
